She's a Big Girl!

Well my little girl peed in the potty last night for the first time. Last night when I took her out of the bath she was running around naked while I went to get her pj's. She peed on the carpet a little and started showing me. I told her you peed on the carpet and just for fun I took her and sat her on the potty, and said she could pee in there. She got off and on the potty about three times each time she would get off she would run over to were she peed and point at it then run back to the bathroom. She ended up peeing twice in the toilet last night. She has tried a bunch today but no luck yet. I'm pretty sure it will be awhile till she is actually trained though she is only 16.5 months old, but at least she has the idea now :)

First Goal

My little man got to play soccer outside today because the weather has been so nice. He enjoyed himself, and actually participated alot. They played a little game today with his team mates. It was really funny, I think it was the slowest soccer game I've ever seen:) . He scored a goal(after bringing the ball so slowly across the grass), and I think he is starting to get the concept of playing an actual game. Next week they get to play against other teams, that will be pretty fun to watch LOL! I will have some new pics next week.

St. Patrick

I was searching the web for the true story of St. Patrick and I found a great article at this web site:

The article is a little long for this page so I will post some excerpts and you can check the link for the full story :)

"Before all the festivities focused on shamrocks and leprechauns and good luck wishes, there was truly something to celebrate: a man willing to stand in the gap for Jesus Christ. Reporter David Kithcart reveals the inspiring true story behind this courageous and fervent Irishman we all know as Saint Patrick.
It was an act of defiance that changed the course of a nation. Patrick lit a fire in pagan 5Th century Ireland, ushering Christianity into the country. Who was this man who became the patron saint of Ireland?"

The basic overview is Patrick grew up in Britain in the time after the Romans fell. He was kidnapped at age 16 and was enslaved in Ireland for 6 years. He was told in a dream to escape and he took a boat

"One night during a time of prayer and fasting, Patrick wrote: "I heard in my sleep a voice saying to me: 'It is well that you fast. Soon you will go to your own country.' And again, after a short while, I heard a voice saying to me: 'See, your ship is ready.' "

, ended up in France at a monastery for a few months and then back home in Britain. Later he was given a vision to return to Ireland and spread God's word to the druids.

"One night, he had a dream. Thee was a man who came from Ireland with a whole bunch of letters. And he opened up one of the letters and it said 'The Voice of the Irish.' And then he heard a voice coming out of this letter that said, 'Holy boy, please return to us. We need you.'"

So he answered and returned to the place of his captivity.

"And so that was his first challenge: to convince the Irish that there was only one God and that his God really did love them."

"Preaching the Gospel, of course, baptizing converts, confirming them, appointing clergy," continues Calvert.
Patrick's ministry lasted 29 years. He baptized over 120,000 Irishmen and planted 300 churches.
"What Patrick did was really lay the groundwork for Christianity," says Freeman.

Patrick died on March 17Th around 493

Here is a great poem that he wrote:

Listen to Patrick's poem of faith and trust in God, "The Breastplate":
"Christ be within me, Christ behind me, Christ before me, Christ beside me, Christ to win me, Christ to comfort and restore me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ inquired, Christ in danger, Christ in hearts of all that love me, Christ in mouth of friend and stranger."

Pink Eye

So my son woke up Monday morning with his right eye slightly red, and I thought mabey he had poked it or something. I went to a dr. appt. and my mom was watching the kids. When I got back it was much worse, so that afternoon I called his ped. and he couldn't see him until Tues. afternoon. By then both his eyes were red and snotty. His dr. prescribed him some eye drops, and I'm hopeing our baby girl won't get it also. Our little man has soccer on sat. so hopefully it is cleared up by then :)

World's smallest political quiz

I just thought this was an interesting quiz. Here are my results :

ACCORDING TO YOUR ANSWERS,
The political description that fits you best is...
.
CONSERVATIVE
CONSERVATIVES tend to favor economic freedom, but frequently
support laws to restrict personal behavior that violates "traditionalvalues." They oppose excessive government control of business,
while endorsing government action to defend morality and the
traditional family structure. Conservatives usually support a strong
military, oppose bureaucracy and high taxes, favor a free-market
economy, and endorse strong law enforcement.

"All little children grow up except one"

My son has had a great week. The weather has been really nice so he has gotten to play outside. I think he would play out there forever if we let him. Also his favorite cartoon finally came out on dvd Peter Pan(he has rented it like 4 times). He was so excited to be able to buy it on Tuesday. Now he is pretty sure he is getting a Peter Pan birthday party as well. I don't think he relizes his birthday is not until July, which is a really long time to wait for a little boy. I always did like Peter Pan myself and it is fun to see my son get into it also.

I got this from Tiff's site. It is kinda silly :) Also I know I spelled Davinci wrong, but I couldn't figure out how to change it without starting over.

So Soccer turned out great. Our son was really shy at first but warmed up to it quickly, and had a blast. I think he is really going to enjoy it. He got to be on the same team as his cousin which they both liked. It was really fun to watch him learn some new things. Here are some pics. The soccer practice was actually in the gym because it is far too soggy outside.

It's March!!!

Well it is finally March, and the weather is still pretty dreary, but we are still getting glimmers of spring. The kiddos are growing as ever and getting really antsy to spend more time outdoors. We finally took are baby girls bottles away. This was mostly difficult for my hubby, he hates to see her grow up. She is doing fine though and is learning new words all the time.
I signed my little man up for soccer it starts this Satuday and he is really excited. He has been asking me every day when he gets to play. I even got him a soccer ball to play with and he has been kicking it everywhere. Our girl loves kicking it also and she is actually pretty good at it. We will have to try her at it when she's old enough. I really hope he enjoys himself because he really needs to burn some extra energy. I will post some pics after Saturday of his first practice! I think I'm just as excited as he is to see him out there playing!
