I just got Buster's curriculum in the mail today :) I'm really excited about it. The curriculum is called Horizons, and I purchased the K math and phonics. Here is a link to Alpha Omega Publications:http://www.aop.com/home/
We will also be doing FIAR:http://www.fiarhq.com/ I found one of the volumes used so we will start with that. This is a fun program where you use childrens books as a unit study. I can find most of the books at the library, and the rest I can hopefully purchase used.
I found a science book for Buster from Christian Liberty Press for 40% off. It is a a fun introduction to science with a creation theme. My hubby will be doing science with him, and I'm sure they will have fun.
For sweetpea the Dollar Tree is my great resource. I have purchased a stack of great preschool workbooks to keep her busy.
For the rest of the subjects I plan on just using a literature based approach. We will be going to the library regularly.
Some Homeschool resources:
I started subscribing to The Old School House Magazine: www.thehomeschoolmagazine.com/
This is a great resource for homeschoolers and I really enjoyed the first issue I recieved.
This is a blog by a homeschool mom that I thought was interesting: http://myblessedhome.googlepages.com/

As always I still love this site for reading games:http://www.starfall.com/
My kids also enjoy the Leapfrog letter factory dvd. Buster learned all his letter sounds quickly with this and sweetpea already knows quite a few from viewing it. I plan to check out some of their other selections.
The main speaker at the convention we attended was Dr. Voddie Bauchman, and he was a really great speaker. Here is a link to his site:http://www.voddiebaucham.org/

Homeschool convention and loose tooth!
Well my husband and I had a great time at the homeschool convention/conference that we attended in Portland this weekend. It was very encouraging and it was also great to be able to check out some curriculum. They had 72 vendors which was a little overwhelming. We ended up ordering Horizons math and phonis for Buster and I can't wait to get it in the mail. They also had a used curriculum area and I found a few things there too.
"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
6 "And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
Deut 6:4-7 (NKJV)

After we got home Buster lost his first tooth :( He is just growing up way too fast. He is riding his bike like a champ, and is starting to dog paddle in swim class. I can't believe he is almost 5.

Strawberries!
My sister and I went strawberry picking last Friday. The strawberries this year were really good. We got excited about them and ended up picking 54 pounds together ;) so we made freezer jam, and froze a bunch of berries for later. They were so delicious! Here are a few pics of the kids.
Buster took this pic himself
