I was given the chance to try out Time4learning's online preschool program for the month of August. I signed Sweetpea up to have her own account, which was easy to do. When you sign up you get a separate child and parent account. The child account goes directly to the games where in the parent account you can check on your kids progress, and customize the program to your kids learning level. The preschool program is for 3-5 year olds, and costs $19.95 a month for the first child and $14.95 for any child after that. It contains two levels that the kids can switch back and forth between at any time. There are numerous topics to click on such as numbers, letters, rhyming, etc. After clicking on a topic you find 3-4 games that increase in difficulty. When the child has made it through an entire set of learning games they are rewarded with an extra fun game. Sweetpea found the program easy to use and was able to move through it all on her own. Unfortunately she found most of the games too easy, and did not particularly enjoy the program. I do think it would make a great program for many preschoolers, and works perfectly to keep little ones occupied while working with older students. Sweetpea is 4, but will be 5 soon, and is pretty advanced for her age. Honestly I'm not sure what she did not enjoy about it as I thought it looked pretty fun and engaging. If you go to their site you will find that Time4Learning offers programs for preschool-8Th grade. You can also see lesson demos and find out more info.
