For the third week of my blog hop I'm going to talk about When we home school.

Since learning is a part of our lives everyday you could say that our school is always in session, but as far as book work we school from July-May. In general we take the month of June off, and about 5-6 weeks throughout our year. Right now we are on our June break, and the kids are still required to spend 20 minutes reading daily. So far this month Buster has read one book about King Tut, two about the Titanic, one about Ben Franklin, and now he is reading a book about the Civil War. Other than that I try to allow them time to play, discover, and explore outdoors. They will also have VBS this month. On the 23rd-25th we will be going to our state convention as well as the Zoo, and Science museum.

During our school year we school 5 days a week, and the only holidays we break for are Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Weekly Wrap Up!

We have made it through 12 weeks of school so far. I was feeling a lot better this week, so we got much more done. We are continuing to just plug away at our work, and the kids are doing great. Buster had a bit of an attitude problem on Monday, but having to skip skate church really set him right. We have one more week of school and then we are taking two weeks off to welcome baby number 4.

Sweetpea got to ride her birthday bike for the first time this week. We even braved the rain just so she could.

The kids were all spinning around poles. They had gotten a little couped up with all the rain, so it was nice to take them to the park twice this week.

Sweetpea wrote her name all by herself for the first time.

Then she wanted to try writing all of our names. Here is how she wrote mommy.

She turned 4 today, so we had a tea party with cupcakes. She wanted hot chocolate though.

Happy Birthday! We had her party last weekend.

Buster had a fun week also. He is just learning so much and doing really well most of the time. Here is a few things he did this week. He is very excited to have next week off. We will be doing some fun things still I'm sure, and I'll post those next week.

Buster had a short week with school also. We had visitors on Monday/Wednesday, and Mops on Tuesday. He is doing really well with his reading and math. On Monday he told me school was really fun! Here are some fun things we did on top of his regular work.
He really enjoyed making pictures with these magnents.

He got to play with my cousins son. They live in a different state, so we don't get to see them much.

He was doing magic tricks for daddy. Daddy and him read a book about St. Patrick.
