Weekly Wrap up!

We are finished with week 8 of school, and it was a good one. Buster is plugging along in Beyond, and trying to join in with Sweetpea with Little Hearts whenever he can. He finished the section on subtraction with renaming in Singapore math 2a, and I think he did great. He also finished reading "Red Fox and his Canoe". For grammar this week we were studying when to use was/were, and Buster was able to give me the right answer every time. He is a little over halfway through All About Spelling level 1 as well.
For Sweetpea we started Little Hearts For His Glory this week. She is really having fun with all the activities. Sweetpea had a bit of a tough time listening during storytime, and history the first two days. We were able to remedy that by making play-doh on Tuesday. Now the play-doh only comes out while I'm reading and so far is working like charm. She even started to warm up to Reddy Fox on day three and was excited about writing a note to him. I went ahead and ordered Reading Made Easy, and we are using that instead of Phonics Pathways right now. I'm really glad I made that choice. Reading Made Easy is much more her style, and is going well so far.

Sleeping Beauty!

We found this dress at Salvation Army! She is holding a picture from VBS that has her and her cousin A in it. They moved to Mexico in July, and she has carried around this card ever since.

Buddy is getting big! We finally took some new pics of him and I will post them in a separate post.

Sweetpea is having a great time doing the hands on math from Little Hearts!

Yes she is still in her jammies ;)

Buster and I played some Pyramath!

Playing play-doh during Reddy Fox!

The kids were supposed to color in their faces, and they got a little silly with it.

I'm so glad I found your blog- through the HOD blogroll!! :) Your family looks like they are off to a wonderful start!! What a precious family you have!! We really enjoyed writing the note to Reddy Fox too & my girls would do school every day in their pajamas if I let them! :)
Blessings,
Jessica

I totally LOVE the dress!! We also use All About Spelling for my dyslexic 12 year old - it's an excellent program. The play dough is a great idea for read-aloud time. We have always had to let my son do something like Legos when we read aloud because he's such a fiddler!

Have a great week!
